Hey guys I need some information please,
My LFS has a target puffer fish that I am really interested in and been looking at it for some time now , He is about 8-10cm +-

Can they be kept in a community tank?
Are these guys venomous if bitten or bullied?
Will they be safe with a 30cm Silver Arowana and 15cm Jardini?

Please any info would be appreciated

This should be a solo fish as will bite and eat small tankmates.

Not a community fish. Most puffers should be solo fish imo.

Shouldn't keep with silver and jar arowana. If too small then will get nipped or if too large then will eat the puffer.

What lfs was this at?

Those 2 aros won't deal well with a puffer or vice versa

But what if all the the other fish are bigger them him?

I'm just worried that one of the other fish bite him and die cause if they are venomous?

I took him already so will have to try and see what happenes

Don't think these are venomous like fugus.

If there is a size difference then may become a meal or I suspect may become reclusive.

Fat Homer Fat Homer keeps puffers and knows a good deal. Maybe he can give some input.

I know I'm in SA too :p

A single species tank is best.
Sorry Hendre Hendre got him from Fish for Africa

I put him into my tank with the aro's and they didn't do anything yet will wait and see or I'll have too take him back too the fish shop

Looks like it might be a Tetradon Leiurus? In which case it will be more of a lurker / active at night type fish...

It also requires sightly brackish water if im mistaken???

Thanks Fat Homer Fat Homer

I was told at the lfs that it's not brackish but fresh water

I'm just worried that one of my fish don't bite it and die? I had a green spotted puffer years back that jaguar cichlid bit and they both died just hope this won't be the case
