Another forum I am on has a specific sticky thread in the off topic section for Political disccusion. Everything goes in there lol. Might be something for the mods of this site to consider as a blow off valve as some people cant go 45 minutes without thinking about politics and history (me included lol).

Hello; Such a thing was indeed started a few years ago. Did not fare well under the guidance of the top mod at the time. Was A decent idea but poorly managed. An irony in this particular thread is it started in the lounge on a topic not directly related to fish -tariffs. In the official off-topic thread posts away from fish are allowed often. Ulu posts about guitars and i recently posted about a deer crashing into my fence.

I get PMs, members get upset, then I got accused of bias when I clean up a string of subsequent messages from all sides while I'm on a break at work, it's actually quite disappointing. And I know many of you feel the same way.

I just want to say thanks everyone for your understanding and support.
I got likes on my post and encouraging feedback, and it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling that the one thing that unites us, the love for our hobby, is so much stronger than any of the things that we may or may not agree on. After all, that's why we meet here.
