Tarpon pricing in aus

Hi my lfs has a 15 inch ox eye herring (tarpon) its selling for $200 is that a good price its the only one ive seen in aus for sale thanks

aren't those native to australia?

Dont know some are south pacific salt and fresh i think thats all i know thats why im asking if any one knows any thing about them.

from what i know indo-pac tarpons are a freshwater species, sometimes found in brackish waters. i see a lot in a local river here, but anyways i'm quite far from where u are, the Philippines. i catch lots of those juvies, quarantine them and make them feeders. , here's a pic.

Lol 200 for a tarpon! I've got three about 40cm in my pool that I'd give away. They survived from small ones I caught as feeders for the gars.
