I showed pics right away. But this really shouldnt be a problem dont you think? You have the option to skip if you dont want to read a particular thread or subforum . If you think a thread is lame, boring or just doesnt appeal to you, then move on.

Its the owners prerogative when to show the pics and in which
manner they would show it.

I know cougar is only venting but its just a game. Ignore a thread like that perhaps
and support the ones that show pics right away? Or maybe wait a day or 2 then check
the thread again.
