i decided it would be easier to just make a new thread one of my new tats has large white spots/bumps on the center of both his eyes and he has little activity??how do i cure this

In most cases it does. Worse case senario when both iris are white - the fish had bulging or pop eyes in the past, both iris are shot, and it is now blind.
water change wise can i do it twice a week and the prob looks like it is on the outside of the eye my archer had this prob and his eye got all fungus like and he died he was in brackish water when he got the infection so would the salt do anything im getting the pharmetacil kind that helps get rid of stress also i will be adding some denitrate to the filter as well as water changesOtherone;4439816; said:Doudtful salt will do anything for the eye, if it were fungal maybe but bacterial not really cause it's not exposed to open water. An increase in water changes could cause more stress than nesseassry. So long as your ammonia and nitrite free and there is no excessive nitrate, normal weekly water changes should be sufficent. Lack of stress is gonna be key here

Salt is good for homeostasis, most tapwater contains enuff salt for healthy levels in fish (some might debate this as they add salt regularly). The "salt" by it's self burns the scales of the fish slimulating slimecoat regenereation which is good to help heal over open wounds or remove juvi parasites. When it comes to external parasites it's not the salt per say but the fluxuation in the waters salinity that kills juvi parasites - they can't adapt fast enuff however adults can adapt - at that point it's a lifespan game - 3-7 daze. I do wish you the best of luck and hopefully it's just cloudy eye and is gone by next week. Unfortunately Payaras and meds don't mix well. However Eye issues and Meds don't mix well either. What it all really comes down to is overall health - a good immune system produced by a variety of healthy foods, salinity for homeostasis, good levels of dissolved oxygen, good gas exchange rate within the tank, lack of expossure to excessive heavy metals and ammonia, zero nitrite, and very low safe levels of nitrate. This is really all we can do - an unhealthy fish can be doomed from the start no matter what the infection or injury. A bullied fish can also be doomed as it's immune system depletes with stress.
