Oh its on the CENTER of his eye, That changed the whole thing and is a much less deadly than what happened to my Tat.

All I can really add is when treating sick fish, 50% water changes that are the same temperature (less than .5 degree difference) daily seems to speed everything up a lot.

ive seen payara in the shedd aquarium in chicago with the white dot on eye. If these guys cant get rid of it, i would bet its hard to treat. 2 of my 5 tats have the white dot on the eye and have had it since i got them over a month ago. so im thinkn it might be permanent. Melafix or pimafix wont hurt em, i use it on all my fish. if the fish is eating and its not gettin anyworse then i wouldnt worry about it.

If we are talking a small white dot in the middle of the pupils, then I'd have to agree that it's permanent unless surgically removed (surgery for a fish?? not that easy I guess...). I've had experience myself, one of my pacus developed eye fungus and when it healed, there remained a little white spot and it just stayed there, it doesn't seem to interfere with it's ability to see.
