tatto idea...need help

You just made me giggle. Thanks for the advice, really, but my profession is bombs and things that go boom and thats a picture of a mortar, a tiny training mortar, I've had to pick up so many of those at ranges 
First find a good tattoo artist.
Then talk to artist about the piece you want, bring in reference material etc and let him/her run wild with it. They are called tattoo ARTISTS for a reason.
A lot of people seem to think you need to get a artist to draw up your ideas to take to the tattooist. This is a very backwards way of thinking. Even if you did this the tattoo artist would have to redraw everything anyway and probably change elements to make it more tattooable
And to the person saying "why get a meaningless tattoo"
Tattoos do not have to have some deep personal meaning! stop watching LA Ink lol.

^ It does help to have a tattoo with meaning, although i agree not completely necessary... But i definitely find a good artist first and have a chat with them to see what they come up with... coz you have to consider the shading factors and everything else that goes into a tattoo, and if the artist you talk to can't do what your looking for then you might find yourself in a bit of a predicament...
