It's actually really easy, takes far less time than a run to the pet store (maybe 5-10 minutes at most to make 5 cultures). mix culture media/hot water, add shredded aspen (excelsior) a few grains of yeast, and wingless D. melanogaster flies. feeding = put some vitamin powder in a deli cup, dump some flies in, swirl around, dump into tank. Cakewalk!

There's a second froglet that's more orange, wasn't able to get a picture of him... pretty excited as I saw a little courting but not enough to think they were actually producing.
