Teacup Stingray not eating & now curling

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I came home after picking everything up and my fish died. Water temp dropped to 70.8 cause the window behind my tank got opened :(. Not sure if that's what was the final blow, really sucks. Think I might hold off on another ray for a while pretty bummed.

Sorry for ur loss . Was the tank heated as the heater should have been able to cope with an open window

While 72 is to low I keep mine at 75-76 and my rays love it. Dont believe rays are meant to deal with 80+ degrees 24/7. In the wild that get warm they swim to deeper waters and cooler temps. Sun goes down temps drop, rainy season water temps drop.
Sorry for your Loss.....

Thanks guys. Such a bummer. I need to get a better heater in that tank. The water usually fluctuates between 72-78 deg depending on the temp the room is downstairs. My 2nd heater failed which caused the drop. I need to look into one that is made for a 300 gallon tank. Took me 8 months to find it locally and that was the only one they had.
