Why were you netting it? Was it holding? Was it sick? Was there another reason that combined with the net stress could have been a cause?

I think it had float too if that makes a difference.

Sure does, if you have a death, the best way to honor that fish is to learn and teach others of the cause.

Never NEVER feed Frontosa from the top of the tank!!!! Use sinking pellets, meaty foods they will sink to the bottom, just soak down the flood so it'll sink to the bottom - don't feed anything that will "float" on the top of the tank.
Feed them quality food, never overfeed, and never do anything that will stress em' out.

Finally I replaced my Burundi Front with two baby Kavala's, frontosas with six stripes. They are beautiful.

Most buy from fish farms I imagine. $65 for shipping on Fronts that size is pretty good at $11ea.

Sorry for your loss. I lost 387 cichlids including 2 Moba frontosa so I know how it feels when it comes to losing fronts..

gosh just the thought of this sends bad vibes through me...horrible..
