tegu or savannah monitor

Anyone got some opinions on which is a better pet? I had a savannah before and he was a lot of fun but i couldnt take him with me when i went to college. Now i feel the urge again but cant decide between another savannah and a red tegu. Which tends to be more of a pet (regarding handeling etc)? And is tegu waste as stink as a savannahs? Any opinions would be appreciated!

IME: Tegu Forsure, More manageable in everyway, but simmilar enough to fill your desire, and doesn't smell AS bad.

i like savannahs... i like the head shape...kind of like a "pit bull" of monitors in terms of that big boxy head like pits...i like the way they look

I'd vote tegu... Savannah monitors are super cool looking but realistically I think the tegu is a better pet.

its true tegus can be handled more and its a new expeirence for you since you have already had a savannah...but like i said big boxy head lizards look dope...

DEFINATELY argentine tegu, red, or blue. Stay away from Columbian golds and b/w's. A sav is a very impractical choice for you it seems, as well as 99% of the population anyway...

But I can go get one at petco that's at least 12"++ for 50.00 and they usually sell..

cats and dogs are horrible pets.hair all over everything.
I liked my tegu over my savanna.
