Im not sure what that has to do with pet choice, but if they were $500, we wouldnt haev this problem

My point was is there's probably a majority of those people who don't know what they're getting into like you said and just say "cool lizard.. only 50.00.. cheap.. I want it", probably why I see alot of savannahs in rescues but offtopic.

Yeah, dont agree with getting a pet unless you know what your getting in to. Just about everyone said Tegu, so it looks like we have a winner. In regards to housing, it is not a big issue. Lots of room for him! I would imagine taming a tegu down is ALOT easier then taming some monitors (especially the larger ones) down, but can the same techniques be used? Any differences? Thanks for all the help!
