Tegu Vs Iguana

Well it's not...

I have a question for you all. I currently own a 2ft female argentine tegu who's very tame and we allow to wander around the downstairs of the house. My housemate is planning on bringing up his 1.5ft iguana this week and we were wondering if there was any possibility they may get on?

I don't think it'll work but anyone got any experience?

well the iguana tends to be more aggressive than the tegu

Do you mean mix the two in the same enclosure? If so I'd have to say no to that.

Not mix in the same enclosure no, but have out around house at same time

Iguana is also tame, handled etc. Both the animals are perfectly tame with human interaction, just how they're likely to react with one another...

You could give it a try. Just keep a close eye on them. I'm thinking the iggy might see the tegu as a threat though.

im going to say they will not get along.. are they both male? if so then i will almost garantee they wont get along. i dont see the tegu being a problem but the iguana might go after it. my igg is perfectly tame. but if another animal goes near him hes a whole new monster haha. he used to go after my dog lol

if you decide to try it keep a real close eye on them. it wont take long for either to do some decent damage.

You could give it a try. Just keep a close eye on them. I'm thinking the iggy might see the tegu as a threat though.

wow,from the iggys Ive been around and the one I had,I would say it will want to kick the tegus black and white booty.However,Ive not spent time with adult tegus so who knows,keep the water hose out so to speak.May end up with a black and white iggy.
