Hey Josh, whats a good beginner's handgun? I figured you could be of help!

I had one of the a few years back.A Ruger .22.Nothing fancy or high-caliber, but easy to operate and costs next to nothing to shoot.

that a 629?

I like the 357 idea, The Ruger looks like another good option too, I think it would be good for target practice since it has low cost of ammo. What is bad about 9mm and glocks? I thought that these were good guns? Is it the "ghetto" thug image that turns you off or is it just personal preference ? I figure I want something cheap to shoot, something that has stopping power, and then maybe a shotgun or something else ? I will look into the 357 first, can you guys point me in the right direction for good prices, models, and info?

You want a cheap gun, check the pawn shops. But make sure its one with a sporting goods department. Not just some hawk shop on the corner. They'll usually have good help and advice behind the counter. And usually a layaway plan if you need it.If you're just getting into shooting, gun clubs are cool.My step-dad and I used to go every weekend back in the day.It was just as fun as hunting when I was a kid.
