The thermometer was pegged yesterday and it tops out at 120, so it was hotter than that, and it gets hotter next month.

As for cafish's delima, sorry I can't help you man. I don't really know much about cichlids. Are you wanting other cichlids with it or what?

im thinking cichlids but im open to any suggestions i kind of want a catfish in there too cause theyre the **** i was thinking putting a couple pictus catfish in there cuase they only get like 5"

i dont know if i want a female dempsy its gonna be a show tank for my basament i want some variety. im thinking a female dempsy might not be such a bad idea though i can think of anything else i would want that could live in a 55g

Check mine out.. And this is without much decoration.. You can add alot, like a background.. And different color substrate.. I heard red gravel looks awesome with a black or deep red background and some gree plants.. mainly floaters.. But also more hiding spaces and you've got a bad azz show tank with fish that can at least stand a chance against one another in a 55.And still look Brilliant..

Try it again.. And i hear the pectoral fins are pointier on the males. And the males grow faster and larger from my perspective.. Right now at that size you have amale most likely..

Males have a longer and pointed dorsal and anal fin, while the female does not.

It's easier to judge sex when larger..
