Yeah, I have a really hard time with predatory animals and snakes. I've shot quite a few rattlers, this house in 100 yrs old with a rattler den under it. If they strike at me or get too close they get shot. They are really really aggressive. Coyotes, shoot those when they raid the Guinea Hens, the Guineas kill snakes. Birds of prey, bald eagles, everywhere, but endangered species.
My boyfriend hunts for meat, deer and elk, it's good here, grainfed on wheat about 50 miles from here are the best deer.
I love animals, I would never take a life if I didn't have to. It's just so remote and there is no such thing as "animal control" and the dept of F&G won't respond to nusiance animals, they say shoot coyotes and snakes, period.
Mountain Lion, I could never kill, maybe if it was attacked my neighbor's horses. I love the wildlife and Cougar's are my favorite. I'm just small so if I go up the ountain to the sring, my landlord tells me, "Don't come up here alone without the shotgun, ever" The Cougar isn't a problem, just enchanting.
If the deer look nice (Muley's up here) we will mount the heads, have a couple nice ones in the living room.
BTW You guys were busy last night, I can't believe how much you guys yapped since last night!!!!!!
Well, gotta free my phone lines, my brother and his wife are having a baby right now. Cool, first one male of the next generation! I can't have kids, so this is the closest I'll ever get. It's cool. Now I see why you guys get all sappy when babies come along!
