Perhaps get an electrician in to check out your power outlets.

You've got some awesome sized tanks!

thanks, and what would be the reason for that? what do you think would be wrong?

im going to say its a operater issue at his point. Ive never heard of a titaium heater/controller combo failing. are you running the dry ever?

I left one 1000w stainless on once when I drained a acrylic and melted it.
That is actually the only heater I have currently that still works.
Otherwise, no.

Its twin melted while underwater in a 300.

I have a back up Ebo Jager that has been through hell and back and it is at least 15 year old and you can not adjust the temp anymore but it will maintain 80 degrees in the 125 gal tank when needed.

Haven't used one of them on about 4 years, I tried them over and over 50 to 300w quite a few different designs/models in small tanks, not even ones that had fish that would abuse them never had any last. Even if that brand wasn't raved about and it was a no name china lead filled heater it is still really unusual.

the one guy who said something about outlet tested actually made me have an idea, about 12 years ago i was talking to the energy company and they were talking about possible surging because i am at the very end of the line. I have never noticed anytihng except in storms. but i might not notice a smaller drop. Never had problems with any other electronics except fax machines... hardly similar.

It COULD be possible that you are having voltage drops (similar to a "brown out"). I am not an electrician, but I am guessing if this is the case, you would be pulling more amps than normal and potentially causing problems. I know if the power flickers here for a bit, the refrigerator sort of grunts and groans until the power comes all the way back.

i agree
If you've had that many failures your either letting them run dry ALOT or have serious power problems. get an electrician to check your plugs out ASAP

What are you using as temp. gages in tanks? And what if any thing are you using to insulate, the side of tank the heaters are on? Is there any part of the tank indirectly getting cooled by a draft or fan, or the tank stand is maybe on very cold floor or next to an outside cold wall? What do you have covering your tank tops? I've covered backs of my aquariums with CELLOFOAM/POLY PANEL INSULATION, and I've got a 'tent' like structure over my largest tank, made of bendable thin plastic that normally would be used for covering a table, car, etc. The warm wet air collects on this and drips back into tank, (otherwise I get mold on my walls). One of my problems was that my filter system was on a very cold floor, and was cooling down the water while it was being filtered!!

I am more than sure you know your stuff when it comes to maintaining aquariums and looking after fish but the problems you are having are extreme.
Have you had your mains upgraded to deal with the amount of amps you setups and home are drawing?
I had this problem when I bought my home which had old wiring and mains connection.
I had to have my mains upgraded to deal with the amount of power drawn from my fish room and home.
If it is not this I would be ringing you local electricity supplier and asking for them to check your connection and meter, explaining your problem.
Good luck and I hope you find a fix soon but when you draw so much juice normally your upgrade your electrical board and mains supply to cope with your load.

You cannot let any heater run dry, thats your problem. even briefly during water changes. All the heaters ive broke were from water change run drys.

Ive had good luck with Rena smart heaters...
