Tell me about Niger Catfish!

If that is a rip shaw catfish we had on about 15" long in a 220. We gave him to a koi farm in ohio he uses them to eat the alge out of his big out door ponds. I got another one today about 6-8 inhes long. They are a very easy going fish. Good luck with them.
they grow pretty quick in my experience. mine is only about 2years old and it's bout 24". and they do get real big. the one at the local zoo here is about 48" right now and it looks like it's got a lil more in it. so unless u'r willing to build at least a 1000gal monster tank i wouldn't recommend getting a monster.
I'm almost positive they have one of these pushing 4' long and 25 years old in their display tant at Nui Kai pets in Medford, Oregon.Someone should go check it out and confirm.(its a hell of a display tankt,they also got a huge red tail and a about a 2.5 foot giant gourami,to mention a few)
They said it was an "Armored cat" but I have looked and looked at all the catfish called "armored catfish" and I didn't see anything that looked quite like it,I'm almost positive it is one of these.(It wouldn't have been the only thing they said that wasn't entirely true...)
