Tell me more about this colour? The shop had him labelled as a white ghost knife fish. A few people say hes albino but albibos usually have red eyes. Is this a captive bred colour? Recessive gene?
I just love unusual coloured fish really and im quite nosey so would love to know.
I would consider this fish either a leucistic or Amelanistic (absences of black pigment), not a true albino. This would be naturally occuring and not a man made variant. Very cool looking fish, I wouldn't mind finding one.
This is true in mammels not necessarly true in fish, where the presence of other pigments will allow the eye to have color just not black. However I would agree this fish probibly does lean more towards the definition of leucistic.
Did not know that. I knew amels in reptiles are also just a different type of albino so I went by the assumption that it was the same for others. Either way, it is still a very unique fish. I've never seen a BGK like that before.
