I have decided to use mine despite of the noise. The reason I wasn' is because I was afraid that the impeller might be worn and off balance, and that it may ruin my motor. What do you think about me putting pot scrubbers in there as bio media. I will be using the pot scrubbers with foam and bio max. What level should I put the pot scrubbers?

Ya know, there has been plenty of people tell me that their Penguin is crap because of the splash noise or the biowheel stopping. You'd think they would try to keep the bio wheel from stopping by cleaning it when it slows down. Of course, I prefer any filter without a biowheel as I am afraid it will stop while I'm gone for a week at my grandmas. That is why I never really prefered BIOwheels. They are very robust mechanically in the impellers and motors. They are made of better plastic than the AC, but I like my AC and Whisper better because they are clear and you can tell when they are gunked up or not working (like they ever quit).
