Tell what you know about the buttikoferi...

Please.

I am looking for as much info on these guys as possible. The is one in the LFS who is just awesome.
I have heard they are aggressive?
Large?
Hard to get tank mates?

I am thinking 125 gallon with;
Two o's
One Dempsey
One common pleco

Please fill me in.

From every Buttikoferi I've ever dealt with, they are fine in a larger tank when they're small, but as they get big they get HIGHLY aggressive. So he will be fine in the 125 with the JD and Oscars for awhile but sooner or later he will begin to terrorize everything else in the tank.

Any Buttikoferi I've ever owned turned psychotic at about 6".

So far as aggressiveness goes, I'd put the Buttikoferi in the top7 of all cichlids.

Nasty nasty African.

mine is about 7 to 8 inches in my pond(1400gal) with tsn, rtc, 2 ck and seems to be fine they just don't mix with other cichlids and get quite large
