I have 6-7 inch tems they are really gold but no spangles. Wassup with that ?
All of the other tems I have had were full of spangles at this size. They are not as aggressive as the tems I have had either but growing at relatively the same rate. Could they be hybrids.

What I don't understand is why don't you guys ask before you buy them and find out where they're from? I feel that's a big problem on this thread. Not enough questions on where fish are coming from, before being bought...

Takes time for tems to develop those nice spangling. Right now his are still showing that lateral line which a trait of young cichla. All they need is time and good feeding so they will look great with that gold coloration, which is probably going to turn into a maroon as they get larger.
