Darkening up to try to absorb sunlight?
That's a good possibility why they darken up Heather.

They still acting normal right. Notice any changes other than in color?
The blue sticks right out!

They are slightly less active but still eat. However, I noticed more ripped fins along with bumps and scratches. I think because they swim around less they become more territorial. They hide behind the pipe and in corners and when another bass is in their comfort zone, they punch.

So they are more aggressive and active in warm water but shy and territorial in cold water. Just my observation. Oh, and the color change as well.

As long as I have my AC going in my house I'm going to keep my heater running. If it goes out like it did last summer it will be going off. Went out of town for 3 days theAC quit working and my heaters were still running and my water got up to 100 and killed most of my stock in my 72

Damn you must of had them set really high... Most shut off at a certain temp.

So ken you going to leave the heaters out for now or put them back in? As the summer comes the water temp in your tanks should go up aslong as the AC doesn't freeze them out.

I had it set on 78 but the heater never shut off for some reason it was still on even when it was100. I replaced that heater

The heaters will remain off. As you said summer will raise the temp back up. I do not have AC in the garage.
