hey i am about to set up my 40 gal breeder in my new room. My new room stays pretty cold, id say in the low 60's, i plan on keeping my tank temp around 76-78 or so. Should i worry about the different temps causing the glass to crack? Also there is no direct airflow from vents onto the tank, the one beside it is closed and blocked.

You'd need a pretty big and sudden temperature difference before anything like that would happen. The worst that you'd ever see is condensation, but that would only be in a room much hotter than the aquarium water.

Yeah, no worries about the glass cracking. To do that, you'd have to do something like heat the tank to about 300 F and then instantly drop it in a pool of room temp water. It's not a really a difference (especially that slight) on the different sides of the glass, but an instantaneous change that causes problems
