I know most people say to keep there young rays in the temp range of 77-82. Is it ok at all to keep a pup in warmer water then that. I have a 75gal grow tank for some of my peacock bass and added a pup tea cup with them. Right now the temp is at 84. Normally i would go even warmer for my little bass but am worried it would be to warm for the ray. Is 84 ok or should i drop it to 82. Any one have ray pups with 2-3 pbass?

Thanks
Kelly

I have not been able to get him to eat for me so I am a bit worried. He ate for me before I picked him up. Ive tried blood worms and night crawlers. Hes been in the tank roughly 12 hours with the lights out. I have added a little salt As well. Should I try black worms.

Yes to the live blackworms, and I found my retics to do well in 72-76 so on the lower side of temps.. I've kept them as high at 78 but they grow just fine at lower temps.. imo food and water changes always trumps higher temps for quality growth rate.

The higher temps are for the bass as I would normally run my grow tanks for pbass around 86. Thats why its on tge warmer side. If i go below 82 im worried about the bass if I go warmer im worried about the ray. Thats why I was hoping someone kept them in temps around 82.
Ill try live black worms to see if I can get him eating.

Bump... Anyone do young bass with there rays and ok with the warmer water temp.

I keep my tank at 86 all year round with pups or no pups

I think 77 is way to low for any rays but that's just me
