Temperature for Gar

Hi all.

Hoping someone can help here, What is the correct water temperature for the Gar species, Is it the one temperature for all the species or do each species require different temperature? Ive been searching and ive seen on various sites that they need 11 – 23 °C is this correct? and if not can someone please enlighten me with the correct temperature for the home aquaria
 
I use Fahrenheit but it can be anywhere from 70-84 I keep my Gar in the upper 70s like 78-80 ...you can convert to celcius

they actually can survive 50 degrees Fahrenheit to about 75-80 but many people dont know this. - Experienced Florida Gar keeper.
 
tropical gar and Cuban gar might not survive the temperature below 50F(10C). Other gar species can survive the cold water as long as the water don't freezing solid and can live in warmer water like tropical and Cuban so you should be OK to keep them at the temperature around 80F(~27C).

they don't die as long as the water don't freezing over and there is water surface for them to take air, but because they don't eat anything when the temperature drop below 55-60F so the older and fatter fish will survive longer.
 
We have plenty gar near my home and water temp prob is between 50 and 90 degrees.
 
You'll want to keep them around 21-27 °C (~70-80 °F) in an indoor aquarium setting. However, slightly higher & lower temperatures are fine as well.

Cuban gars & tropical gars shouldn't be subjected to the low temperatures that the other gar species can generally tolerate; they're better off kept at the temperatures that I previously mentioned. All the other gar species will have little trouble dealing with temperatures down to 10 °C (50 °F) provided that they're in good health; some species from certain localities are capable of dealing with even lower temperatures if they're healthy.
