tempered glass

I almost bought a 50 gal full tempered glass tank that had rounded corners, like it was all one piece, with matching stand for $700... i only had 5 bills though so i passed on it, maybe next time. looked hella nice thou.

for those that don't know this tempered glass is 4 times stronger than plate glass, so that piece of glass you have there is as strong as a 3 inch piece of plate glass. that's strong enough to put in a dolphin park.. build the tank of you dreams with that glass, because the glass will never break unless the tank itself can't hold the water....

pics of ur 18k pond

My pond is actually my swimming pool. For the last four years, I have had comet goldfish in it. The edges in the deep end were allowed to grow uncut with ferns and vines for a natrual pond look. Obviously I could not use chlorine but I maintained clarity with the DE pool filter (1 micron), ozone, and algaecide. Barley does not work. The nitrate level was super high as evidenced by the progressively worse algae blooms. My last algae bloom was particularly nasty and when I killed it, as it died it sucked all of the oxygen out of the water. It killed everything in the pool except my resident bull frog. He tips the scale at 1.9 pounds. Tiny for most states, but here in Florida it is rare for them to be larger than a few ounces. He had an excellent diet of goldfish.
As for pictures, green water never looked too impressive. I took pictures of some of the dead fish. Mostly the butterfly finned and fan tails that were 10 & ll inches. I had 124 adult fish and around 300 babies. I filled a ten gallon bucket with dead fish.

Agreed...tempered glass is much stronger then regular glass.....the problem is with the edges of the glass......

You could take a hammer to the flat side of the glass, with no ill effects.....but just a slight tap on the edge, the thinkness part.....and you'll have millions a pieces....
