Temporarily Housing My Fish In The Bath

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Cause with a razor Blade you can run it against the glass and the silicone will release with a few passes. Silicone is flexible so if you have to use a sawing motion, you won't get too far.

Grab like a 30 gallon plastic container they will be fine in that for a few hours. That's how I transport fish I buy when it's a long distance. Could even buy a brand new minnow bucket aerator if your that paranoid

Thanks, I'll grab some Saturday AM and go with the tote method, seems less hassle as long as they're gonna be OK in close quarters for a few hours.

Just buy one of the small kids pools shaped like a shell.put your tank water in there heater aswell then add fish.then do the same when putting the fish back in the tank.and i think the use of the tank water will do good for your bacteria in your filter.

or buy a 50g rubbermaid garbage barrel. I proffer that since it's much sturdier. And I think the dark grey or green walls help cause less stress.

don't use your tub unless it was a emergency.

All done, thanks to everyone that offered their input on this.

Wasn't too difficult thankfully, the background was only attached by a couple of strips of silicone. Grabbed me one of these for £6...

The fish are back in and both cichlids have claimed a cave each. They seem happy although there was a fair bit of bickering over territories. My firemouth has always been king of the tank but after the background was removed and I added the wood, my Oscar was chasing him all over the tank everytime he left his cave. After I began to think my O was the new alpha male, this proved to be short lived. Once my firemouth started flaring at him, my O backed down FAST...

The hierarchy seems to be back to normal now and they have both chilled out. I have a cool video of the square off if anyone wants to see it. Thanks Again.
