Temporary Tank Filtration Ideas?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ive never had a problem with any size dats mixed with gars... biggest was a 20" alligator gar with small dats

I just rearranged my tank, so that might help. I thought about putting my gar in a separate tank, just till the Dat settles in, but don't know if thats necessary. I just don't want the Gar to attack the Dat in anyway. He seems to get confused about what to eat sometimes

Well, I got my 55 gallon set up with gravel, powerhead, a submersible pump with filter, and heater, oh, and light. I only filled it about 2/3 full. I'm going to try and see if the gar and Dat can get along. If they can't, I might take the gar out for about a week, and then reintroduce it. I think as long as I can keep the gar well fed, he should be fine. On the other hand, my gar had bit my bichir a couple times when they were feeding. I guess I'll just have too see. Any other ideas or feedback, I'd like to hear it. Thanks for your help.
