Yet, do you / Chinese vendors and hobbyists know the difference between a capapretum aka false piraiba and filamentosum aka true piraiba? The prices and availability you are quoting sounds like those of capapretum.

We are told, e.g. by fugupuff fugupuff who's an expert, that true piraiba are barely available and are hard to collect.
 
False piraiba and caps have a complete different terminology and are widely available. The blunt nose, big spots give it away immediately. Those are actually around 1/3 of the price of the piraiba, like 100-120 usd for a foot long specimen. The hobbyist community here is huge.. After relocating here, it's really opened up my eyes.
