...Very. Territorial.

Maybe get a pair of juvie clowns to start off with?

They aren't as aggressive and can just about start out in a 10 gallon.

Would it be possible, yes. Should it be done and will it be comfortable for them to live in for life, no. They would need closer to a 30 gallon or more to live for life.

Would a single clownfish be alright in the 10 gallon for life? I might be able to convince my dad to let me move them to his 55 gallon marine aquarium once we get it in balance (see Saltwater Aquarium N00b Needs Help); there's an anemone in there that might work for a clownfish or two if it lives long enough for us to fix the problems with that system.

If not then can I please get a list of good beginner marine fishes that would work in there for life and in what quantity?

You could put one ocellaris clownfish in a 20 gallon or bigger for life, so no go in your 10 gallon.

For a list of fish you could put in your 10 gallon I would look here to see what you like.

If you get fish that are compatible you could probably do 2 fish, but no more than that in a 10 gallon.

Thanks for the link. From the looks of things, I'm limited to mostly gobies and a few other small fish.

Yes, unfortunately you are. Fish that don't constantly move or get very big at all in a nano.

You could always get a bigger tank :grinno:

I want to, but I only have room for a 48" long, 30" long, and 2x 20" long aquariums at college. I currently have a 29 gallon, 20 gallon long, and 2x 10 gallon in those spaces, and all but one of the 10 gallon aquariums are currently occupied or have incoming occupants.

Wow! That many tanks in college. That is pretty cool, in time you will have more space.....for more tanks :grinno:
