I don't know what it is but my ten gallon tank seems to be cursed. I have lost almost ten fish in the last six months in it. I'll just go and check and another fish will be floating. I've checked ammonia and other levels and they are fine. I'm wondering if any thing else could be causing these deaths. I've had corydoras and platties in the tank and I've lost a few of both species.

What’s ur pH and gh? Is it planted? Were the fish quarantined? Corys wild?

How old is the 10 gallon and what filtration setup is on it? Is it possible the substrate is tainted?

The ten gallon is six months old. I siphon vacuum the substrate once a month and do a little water change once a week. It has a hob tetra filter and an air pump. It is kept at 78 degrees

Are the deaths happening soon after you buy the fish or are they happening a decent amount of time after you buy them?
I also would care to know if your pet store you buy them from happens to be one of the big box pet store like petco, pet smart, pet super market, etc...

It is a Canadian chain called pet land they are pretty good with fish though. The deaths are happening well after purchase usually 2-3 weeks.

You say they were not quarantined, that may be the cause.
I’m not knowledgeable enough in the topic of diseases so my opinion isn’t to be listened to however we do have a few people here who are quite well versed in diseases and whatnot. kno4te kno4te and duanes duanes are the first two that come to mind. Anyway for whatever it’s worth I would quarantine the next batch for sure.

I’d suggest quarantining for sure and try finding locally bred fish. Keep stable water parameters.

I would suspect something other than the fish at this point if it is affecting different species and taking several weeks.

I would empty the tank and start fresh. Clean everything with a vinegar solution and replace the substrate. It's a 10 gallon so just replace all filter media while you are at it.

Idk why the place he/she gets the fish would matter much as around here the chain stores and the ma pa shops all use the same 3 suppliers. Most shops will be forthcoming as to where their fish come from.
