I have been doing some research regarding ternetzi and nattereri and have found that most people consider them to be variations of the same fish. So I'm wondering what your opinions are on the subject.

Yes, you could say Ternezi is a variation of Nattereri although some people say ternezi are more agressive than natts but I think it depends on every particular fish personality itself.

Cheers.

Thanks. Also let me correct myself and say I was refering to pygocentrus ternetzi

As far as science is concerned terns are p nattereri. They do get bigger than their red belly counter parts but other than that there doesn't seem to be a difference. Colour alone isn't enough to make it its own species otherwise we'd have so many different species for all the diff variations.

you dont have to correct yourself, what the heck is a ternezi lol???

but yes i would like to know more about pygocentrus ternetzi, i hardly ever see young ones for sale, if i do i will buy some. anyone keeping them? i know caribemob got 3 of them not long ago..i wonder they are doing?
i love the yellow bellys very appealing..

If I don't correct myself someone else will do it and that just makes me look bad. Now can anyone explain to me why this "golden" looking pygo is a rbp and not a ternetzi? I just don't understand it. If the color variance is what makes them ternz then why is this not considered one?

It looks to me like thats an albino red? and because there eyes are naturaly red the loss of pigments make em clear? Interesting never seen one white like that lol terns are more greyish with yellow bellys (some)

that one looks like either stressed or the color got washed out by the gravel.
Ternetzi has a dark grey color body with yellow color belly where rbps has red.
