I've read that tera cotta pots make good caves for fish, so I got a few from my mother-in-law. The problem is she had a bunch of them help together with packing tape.

My question is, what can I use to get the glue residue off of the pots that won't hurt my fish?

I tried that and just got pieces of the scrubbie spong stuck in the glue. Maybe I need hotter water. I'll try it again. Thanks!

Try vinegar?? not sure if it will help but I know people use it as a cleaning agent for tanks due to it's non-harmful nature.

Give it a go and let me know if it worked to get the glue off.

With a bone-dry pot, you can remove glue with light sandpaper. The scratches will lighten the terracotta but, immersing the pot in water will restore it's true color.

I know they're hard to come by these days.........but try a scrubbing brush instead of the 'scrubbie sponge'.

Ya, sandpaper should work, if it doesn't try vinegar.
