Terrible week in our Characin community. RIP Rhaph.

Open mouth insert foot. The Rhaph was not my oldest fish, despite the fact I did figure out when I got him. It was Jan of 04. My brackish Mono (now salt) shoal pre-dates the Rhaph as they were obtained in late 03.

How did I happen to remember this? The fact that I'm missing one of my Mono Sebaes was just pointed out.

What a friggin day. Dammit. First the Rhaph, now a Mono. Gone. The Dragon strikes again. Bastid has eaten 2 out of the 4. I don't get it. The Dragon must have super taco abilities to be able to fold up a fish 5 times the size of it's own head.

Rhaph was the KO. Mono is just kicking me while I'm down. This is ridiculous.

Must resist listing in the classifieds.....

Sorry to hear about the loss big dogg

I think close to the first 2 years were feeders. Then krill, Then shrimp. He would occasionally take smelt but much prefered shrimp. I didn't even know what smelt was until the last year and a half or so, I think his shrimp prefrence may have been due to being used to shrimp for so long prior to being introduced to smelt.

Your signature says it best.

I too have lost fish that I have owned for years, I too have tempted on posting everything up for sale, I too have wondered what ifs and in the end, nothing changes. My curiousity will never be satisfied. Sometime they just died....without any explanation.

Unfortunately with nature, the KNOWN factor only compose of less than 5% of the overall factors. The other 95% are UNKNOWN and will propably never be known.

Keep your head up, brush it off and move on. This is part of the beauty of nature.

Good luck bud

Could it be because he lacks some sort of amino acid in his diet?
