TEST KITS :Strips or Liquid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Liquid for sure

I used both too.. and they are always way off. The strips always say about 4 times what the liquid tests will show. Glad to know others are getting same XP...

BTW-- trick i did was use scissors and cut all the strips in half to double the usage...

liquid is much better.. it takes longer but i dont mind cuz it keeps my gf busy..

cant u get something that stays inside the tank all the time and shows any change in the water?

"yes"... they do exist.. ive never used them and never plan to.. i may be wrong but imo they are trash...

just recently i decided to try the test strips, i've been wondering about their accuracy. I seem to be getting lower nitrate readings with the strips though (the jungle 5 in one, the guy at my lfs told me i had to try them) :screwy:. after i'm done with these i'm definitely switching back to liquid. Can't say that i enjoy having all of those annoying glass containers rolling around all over the place,... anything for healthier fish.

Yes you can and they're a complete waste of money. The one I put in my tank had readings thru the roof. :nilly: Broke out the liquid tests and my readings where perfect. :D

Would be funny if the fish knew what it was and had been defecating all over the reader, that's why it was off the charts, lol. Just to freak their owner out.
