im not in the same league as R1...

What league is this? the bottom of the totem pole league..LOL.. I'm such a newbie to photography.

It's true though what Eric said. Get to know the use of the camera since you don't want to end up with an expensive point & shoot.

Welcome to the new hobby =-) Pack up your bags and let's go shooting. Mjunior has a couple of models lined up for a photo shoot......hopefully House64 doesn't try to come by and wear his usual Friday night wigs........lol

You know your old buddies from JFX has their own paparazzi website....I know where your going with this :naughty:

Great pic's, I'm really going to have to upgrade to one of these sometime soon.

It just a personal preference. I had a choice between a Canon 40D/50d Vs a Nikon d80. I went with the Nikon. My buddy is a pro and he shoots with a Canon. Guess which camera he told me to get? The Nikon.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I noticed that Canon's body cost more but lens are cheaper to buy. When holding both camera's the Nikon feels a lot better. But some will tell you the Canon feels better. It all comes down to what people prefer.

But honestly, you cant go with wrong with either brand.

I agree they are both top of the line companies and i have not spent my money yet but I am leaning to the Canon.

As for the wedding photography comment we did not even go to any of the large companies photographers with a team pf them we went to the mom and pop out of there home type people and picked a very nice one. They did a friends wedding I was a groomsmen in and he was so cool by the end of the wedding he gave his camera to another kid to take his pix with me! It was funny as hell!

Look at this sporting event... wow... look at all the "WHITE" lenses.... signature of Canon's "L" lens.

I think both are great and is simply a matter of choice. As for body's it's a matter of preference and both Canon & Nikon makes an equal amount of models that match against one another.

However with glass I think Canon still has the edge.

But for what we use it for (fish pix's) both are great cameras. I believe Chaitkla (sp)? shoots with a Nikon, and his pictures just blows any pictures I try to post. But I don't believe it's simply the fact he uses a Nikon, I'm sure if he shot with a Canon it would be just as great. I use to believe it's the camera that made the difference, however as I get more into DSLR's it's also skill and having an eye for the subject. In addition understanding lighting which is key.

Shoot, just look at Neo's pictures progression. As he keeps shooting and posting his pictures are getting better & better. Way different from his first DSLR sets.
