So I bought some Black Diamond from Tractor Supply. They had 2 type. Fine and coarse, bought each bag $7.99 50lbs had a 5 gallon laying around decided to fill it. Here the result with the fine sand. Will have the coarser sand tommorow looking for another mini tank.

keep us updated i have a friend that wants to use black sand in his new tank
he has white pool filter sand in his other large tank and he wants black sand that stays on the bottom real nice like pfs

I would like to change my 75 over to black sand or maybe add it to my gravel. My jag hybrid piles gravel against one side of the tank. Sand might be a little hard to do that with. Probably easier to clean, too.

I have that in my planted 110. Here's some pics.

some sand is better than others with vacuuming and cleaning.. pool filter sand is a good white sand to use it stays on the bottom and settles nicely when stirred up i have pool filter sand in my tanks and i have never found any in my filters.
so if you want white sand then pool filter sand is the way to go.

im not sure what the best black sand is to use i have herd that black diamond sand is a good sand
