i have a tetra that had an eye problem earlier. Looks like he lost it but I don’t know. Anyway one day he was laying on his side in the main tank so I took him out and put him into my hospital tank. He lays on his side most of the time and sometimes swims very rapidly in circles. He can’t swim straight at all. Sometimes he breaths slowly and sometimes very hard. What could this be and can I help him

What is in the main aquarium?

Several other fish. One of which being a tetra just like him. But there’s a couple different tetras, gouramis, sharks, Knifefish, pleco, Cory’s and loaches. And as far as I can tell no fish have any illnesses, look odd, are all eating and are swimming fine

And to add water parameters are normal and temp in hospital tank is about 80

Could be swim bladder or spiral disease. Can always add a little prazipro and kanamycin and see if it helps. Keep the water clean.

Would adding salt help in this case at all or no?

It won’t hurt. Can lower the water level to keep the fish more upright. Water parameters doing fine? Any new fish?

No new fish for awhile. He’s been in the hospital tank for a week now. All fish have been doing just fine no signs of anything
