Is that not just a water conditioner? How many gallons does 5 ml treat? Prime treats 50 gallons with 5 ml. Aquasafe works, but I don't think it has the same concentrated effects.
My bad my answer pertained to tetra Safe Start. Aqua safe is an overpriced conditioner.

I meant tetra safe start. It was bought from Dr.Tim Hanovec the inventor of bio spira which is now owned by tetra who named it easy start and made it so that it would not need to be kept cold. This stuff from what I have heard works.

I just started using Nutrafin BioClear recently. I will never go without a bottle of Amquel Plus or Stability, but the Nutrafin stuff is available at any Petsmart & its made by Hagen. Petsmart has quit selling all the crazy random companies & even cut down the Tetra products to make room for the entire SeaChem & Nutrafin lines. Anyway...I own pretty much every chemical they sell because I'm an impulsive chem buyer, but I only use a few. Most still have the plastic on them!

I am a seachem whore. They do however make the best carbon and beneficial bacteria supplements and by far the best test kits

I doubt it, there wouldn't be any way to keep the bacteria from dying off. I've never used any bacteria product that wasn't kept cold that worked.

Try seachems stability if you haven't. The stuff DOES work :) when the directions are followed. BTW when the beneficial bacteria turns in to spores it can be stored at shelf temp. They open up in the tank and help create BB fast. Most tanks cycle in about a week.

not worth it, the only thing I find worthy from tetra is there food and there blackwater extract.

I finally had the time to find this thread and comment. IME, do not put this stuff in a planted tank. I am PO'ed. All the time and money spent on my planted tanks.....I call bs.

Howdy,

Tetra is certainly working hard to ruin its reputation. First EasyBalance, then this. Also, their blackwater extract ToruMin contains tons of phosphates and creates great algae blooms.

I am not impressed. They advocate bad fishkeeping!:swear:

I hear ya. I just hope a lot of people read this thread and take notice. It is a common brand out there. Therefore people trust it. Sad.

People who are so involved that they frequent fish forums generally know better. I am afraid that mostly inexperienced and junior (i.e. parents take care of tanks) fishkeepers fall victim to these scams... :(
