Tetraodon Pustulatus?

If you are looking for a true pustulatus (aka Cross River puffer) then good luck as they are very very rare and normally have a price to match...
Over the years on the few occasions i’ve seen / heard of them being on offer they came to approx USD $700 - $1500
Tank size: being an inquisitive fish i would aim for min 200G to give them space to stretch out and swim...
Max fish size: approx 14”
Temperament: not 100% sure here, but would treat them like most puffers and expect them to be potentially aggressive to tank mates...
Where to buy: this is always the million dollar question and will take a lot of hunting and a bit of luck tbh... i think in the 15+ years i’ve liked this fish, i’ve personally come across them twice in person, and a handful of times online...

Too rich for my blood. They appear to be similar care as a fahaka but I personally have only seen them in pics. Good luck be careful not to get trick with a unique pattern fahaka
^ thats true too... seen people passing off very young fahakas or fahakas with slightly off patterns as cross rivers a few times too...
Saw one on a supplier list a few years back, our price would have been 800. Safe to say I passed
Thats seems about right, as one of the stores i’ve spoken to in the past said they could get it almost directly from the source but would still cost them $500 without including shipping or their own mark up and if i really wanted one, they’d give it to me for $800 but would have to wait a few months...
Needless to say i also passed as i didnt have the tank or really the funds to spend on such a fish with me needing to move next year...
We might be getting the True Real Deal next month. Not cheap.
