Tetras In Boa's water bowl?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I used to keep minnows in my garter snakes water bowl but they were there for food so I really didnt need to worry too much about keeping them alive long but it did make it look more lively. Another good fish would be zebra danios for me they are bullet proof and active.

i dont think it would be worth it. it wouldnt look that good. and u wud have to change the water almost everyday correct? that would be a pain to get those tetras out and it wud get kinda nasty too. u cud mabey put in rosies or somethin like that. thats what i do for my CWD but he eats them. ur boa wouldnt even waste his time on tetras. u wud need an airpump also or else the tetras would suffacate eventually. and the water could overheat

How old are you? Like 5? Spell out the words junior!

I think it would be a pain in the long run. You would need to use a sponge filter, or other filter with biomedia in it. Thats not much room...for error or for the fish to move. I think if the snake releases one load into the water, thats gonna be it. And you would have to take the filter out and give the tub a good cleaning, and then set it up again. In theory yes it can work but i don't know if something so small is worth it.

If it was a pallaudarium setup it would be a different story.

I think it would be sweet, and if you had the water filtered for the fish then it would be better for the snake wouldn't it? You probably wouldn't have to change the snakes water as often if you were filtering it.

i know a guy who built his cage to hold a 40 breeder... tank holds several small colorfull fish and is filtered adds a nice look to his set up...

what are you using for substrate? i have a container with water in with my monitors and its impossible to keep it clean. i would be worried about something getting stuck in the filter
