TetraTec EX1200 questions....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Only just realised that I finally got some replies to this!

Well, the LFS that was selling them at discount (£85 instead of £115) still had them in stock, I had some spare cash at last, so I bought one 10 days ago. Looks like a solid piece of kit. Havn't set up the big tank yet, I'm waiting on a sheet of plywood to go under it to spread the load on th floor.

Thinking of setting the filter up on one of my other tanks to get it seeded before I get the 100g up and running. Need to do it soon as my fish are getting cramped in their current tank and I'm sure they'd love all the extra space for Christmas!

Thanks for the replies everyone - I'll let you know how it goes when I get it all up and running.

Sound like a Marineland C 360 being sold overseas as Tetratec. I have never own the Tetratec model of the C360 but I have owned a Marineland C 360. I had one for 3 weeks before I sold. Other than being too heavy, the filter is easy to assemble, good design, quiet, and pump worked great. The water jet coming out was way stronger than my XP3. PM me if you have any other questions on this filter. Plastic tubings are very hard and not flexible enough to make it easy to work with. It'll still work but take more effort to push the plastic tubing into the inlet and outlet all the way in.

Just had a look for the Marineland C 360 and I think you are spot on - same filter. Shop I looked at even said "Tetra" under the Marineland name, so I think it's a dead cert it's the same filter!

Tetra as a company has been around for quite a long time actually. The tetratec line is quite old as well. Neither tetra nor Eheim is actually made in Germany, that is actually an advertising loophole.

that s good to know. easy to be fooled.. however on my eheim i have written "made in west germany."
