was looking at these are they any good would like one for my 40 breeder i like the idea of the heater and how it kinda works like a wet dry filter any help greatly apprecdiated thanks

As did I, I pointed this out to the group earlier but it was poo-pooed, do a search and see why. I think the consensus is eihter an AC or Pengiun, in which I prefer the AC as a whole but feel the BIO-WHEEL is the best bio filter going....

yeah bio wheels are fool proof and low maint.
 
I have a pf 500 that came with one of my tanks,firt day motor fell out spilling water all over the floor.All attempts to buy parts online and at lfs failed.Contacted tetratec and requests for parts info were replied to with spam emails to change 20% water monthly.Fixed it with silicone and now it is in my basement fishroom,works ok wouldnt buy another I like my emperor 400 better.
 
tetratecs are one of the worst filters I have ever seen. For their expense, they aren,t very effecient and don't last very long. And from what i've heard, they're very noisy. Stick with the Emporer, they last forever.
