So I bought my two teugelsi from my lfs about 6 months ago. They were in a 20g and already about 5inches. They both have had slightly cloudy eyes ever since I got them but other then that, have been feeding and behaving completely normal. I woke up this morning to find one of them thrashing around trying to swim up right, but he was more or less spiraling around as he swam around the tank today. He had what looks like a bright red bruise under his throat and red circles around his eyes. Any ideas as to what happened to cause this? All of my other Polys are fine and the water parameters are looking good. They were moved into my 125g on Monday of this week. But like I said they have all been fine other then this one. Ill try and get some pictures when I get home from work today if he's still alive. I did net him to keep him closer to the top of the tank to make sure he had access to the surface to breathe before I left this morning. Hoping he pulls through

The swimming can be a swim bladder issue or air stuck in his body. The redness sounds like a a bacterial infection. Can be related to the eye cloud.

Alright if it's possibly a bacterial infection I guess I should put him in a QT tank that I have and start treating him. Any meds in particular gonna be the most effective to clear out the eyes and help him recover? I'd really like to save this guy

I use melafix and salt. Some people say it doesn't work but it's worked for me every time I've done it. Another question though what kind of substrate do you have and what kind if decor if any?, and are there other tank mates besides polys?

They are on black sand, I believe it was Caribsea. The only decor currently are to fake tree root looking pieces. And some plastic plants I hadn't moved the drift wood over from my other tank yet. The other tank mates are 9 danios and 2 or 3 tiger barbs

Would it be best to pull that individual poly and put him in qt and treat him alone. Or since he's been with the rest of my polys for about 6 months to leave him in the main tank ad treat all of them

Pics would help greatly to determine the severity of the affected areas. Until pics I would suggest keep him in the main tank and observe his behavior. If the pics turn something contagious up then I'd treat the whole tank, but I would just keep him in the main tank for right now so you don't stress him too much. I would suggest putting some salt in the main tank. I do it after WC to help with prevention. If you don't see any of the affected areas looking better I'd separate him. As far his balance was he struggling like trying to swim down and kept floating back towards the top? Or had control, but when he swam he swam erratically?

Sad to say I got home and he didn't make it. I took some pics of him and I'm hoping we can still figure out what happened to him, so i know if I need to do anything to specific to keep my others from having this same demise.
