There ya go. I didn't want to reach too deep into my pockets so I got a baby one, it was real fun growing him out. If he is maxed out growing I'll still be happy. The thing I love about the teugulsi the most is when people come over and don't notice he is in the tank under the driftwood, until he comes out for a big gulp of air. Everyone always goes...WHAT THE HECK IS THAT! haha By far my favorite poly, active and huge.

ive seen this teugulsi in person! it is definately 18" if not more! it is a true monster. very nice poly
Thanks rj, good luck with the pearl. Not really a true monster yet. imo if it is only a year old hopefully it still has some big fish genetics left to use up. lol

Hello,

as often the size of bichirs is wrong in the most literature. Unfortunately the first one who seems to be big is the one who has the final size (remember P.ornatipinnis - really grows up over 60cm or P. ansorgii who is not the smallest - as said in the most cases of description - maybe it is one of the biggest ones!). For my opinion very un-scientific way ...
Mine is about 55cm long, here are some pics:

Hi UWE, nice to see you posting again. how is life treating you?

UWE,
Nice teugulsi, yours looks quite a bit different than mine. Mine is more green in color, still very nice I like your tank alot!!

Hello!

First - to answer FishNCash - life is treating me after radiation of my head a bit nasty. A bit like after a headshot ... my short time memory is very bad, my nerves are damaged a lot (it's difficult for me to walk) and i'm used to sleep suddenly on any place. But now i do not have those monstrous headache that paralyzed every action i wanted to do over four weeks. So i'm able to work on my CD.
Dear Rockbass6 - the colouration of bichirs is dependent on the colouration of the ground/gravel of the tank. Lighter gravel causes lighter, gentle patterned bichirs - darker gravel causes more contrasted, darker bichirs (as i could watch in my tanks, but i do not know if it's consequent regular). In the case of P.teugelsi i don't know if there is a change from youth to adult. The experiences about these wonderful fish are soooo young and it seems to be the possibility that there may be some surprises!

Greetings Uwe
