Hey Taz. Sweet looking fish. I just bought two terrors that look like your and have just about concluded that I have mayan's (aka false red terrors). I was mad at first but then decided I really like the fish anyway as they stay much smaller than actual festae and far less aggresive. Has anyone else done this and does anyone else think those might be mayans because I would like to Know the true ID of my fish and don't have batteries for my camera. Nice fish none the less. Love the Hybrid too. Sorry to derail nuth88.

Those are mayans (urothalmus) not festea caudaul fin spot is smaller on festea. I'm not much on selling hybrids. but will admit the vigor of closely related species does brighten up some fish. Yes both cynagats. & carpints. can be mingled to gether but get same sex or they will interbreed.

Thank's for the info on the mayan. I really like my FH, but looks more like a trimac. I have some Vieja Bifa's that may be hybrid's and that p***** me off. I don't mind hybrid's as long as they let you know when you buy them. I might have bought them anyway but I want to know what they are. I'll have to wait till they get bigger and ask you guy's!
