Texas cichlid info

A blue or green texas is the same species (carpintis) . A reg texas (cyano) is just called a texas cichlid.

Carpintis are sometimes called pearscale cichlids too.



I disagree. I think Texas cichlids look a lot nicer, and their body is much deeper instead of elongated.

There is at least 2 different web sites I've seen where they labeled the Carpinte "Green Texas Cichlid"...One of them being

Dr. Foster and Smith.

That being said, they also say the Cyano is in a yellow form.

i have a carpinte escondido specifically and even though he is super aggro, he is the most beautiful fish i have ever seen just my opinon because its my fish probably lol

no i agree thats a great looking texas!
i will find out tomorow what type of texas they are at the LFS and i shal update this thread!
