Texas Cichlid or Not?

Okay, awesome hybrids.... What should I do with them, a LOT of stuff I have read would say to destroy them right this moment :cry:

What to do, and I'm going to be talking to the pet store about this :irked:
 
First to me doesnt look Mayan. It looks like a festae hybrid. And it's up to you what you do with them. Personally I dont agree with hybrids, but that doesnt mean you should kill them. Just dont let it breed (that's my opinion, but do what you want).
 
Yeah, I don't agree with hybrids either mainly because of how they can get into the large populations and effect the rest of the species. I think I'll keep them, and not let them breed, like you say cause it sounds better than killing them. The fact that a cichlid that is not only a hybrid but ins't ever half what they said it was, really irks me. But when it's $2 each for any cichlid really, you probably should figure it's a hybrid :ROFL:
 
If it were me id get rid of the SMB and the Jewel-keep the Snook and the Mayan-when you get your 125 you can add either 2 more cichlids like a Salvini maybe an Oscar or GT-or a school of Silver Dollars.

not all pet stores know what there talking about, your better off finding your answer on here :) and if we destroyed all hybrids we wouldnt have the beasty flowerhorn that everyone loves so much.
