here was my lahillas in November 08 at 4.5 inches in the middle pic and now at about 8-9 inches in the other pics. The flash makes her look gold-ish in the first pic but shes not. Shes royal blue and black.

Yours possibly looks like a lahillas, which is actually either a new variant or a rare one, I believe. I havent seen anyone else on here with one, or at least anyone saying they have one or much info online about it.
mine look exactly like the one in middle, and both have a lil of black on its dorsal fin like urs, guess both female =( is escondido more rarer? how much a 2 in Escondido should price in NY? they selling for $30 for a 2in escondido.
I don't really care what variant i get, i just want big pearl spots, mine are about 2in and don't have much spot like the second pic u posted, but the first pic is really stunning.

escondido is a carpintis. there is no fish called a "regular" carpintis. Unless you choose to not acknowledge the regional variants of carpintis and lump them all
they had adult carpintis, but ordered me a fake carpintis.

Well , yours does look like mine when it was younger, but its hard to tell exactly from your pictures. If I had to guess, Id say it is a lahillas. In my opinion, escondido are the most common variant avaialable, based on how many people on mfk have them and how easy they are to obtain.

Regardless what it is, it will be a great looking fish. Maybe you can make a post entitled "what variant of carpintis is my fish?" and get some other opinions. My only concern with that is that not many people have experience or knowledge on the chariel or lahillas, so you might get all answers telling you escondido. Maybe do a poll in the new post and have pictures of the 3 different variants. Good Luck and Ill give my 2cents in whatever you do!:D
